Backed by Y Combinator and top venture investors in Silicon Valley, New York and Miami, Vetcove is a fast-growing, mission-driven company. We are searching for talented and passionate people who want to help shape the future of veterinary care.
About the Position
The Associate General Counsel will be a key member of Vetcoveâs legal team and a trusted partner to teams across the business. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a high-growth startup environment, brings a strong work ethic and ownership mindset to every project, enjoys tackling problems big and small, and wants to help build the legal infrastructure for a rapidly expanding technology company operating in highly regulated markets.
You will work closely with Vetcoveâs legal team, business leadership, product, and operations teams on a wide range of legal matters, including commercial contracting, product counseling, regulatory analysis, privacy, data security, intellectual property, and strategic growth initiatives. You should be excited to jump into new areas, master unfamiliar legal frameworks, and help the business move quickly while thoughtfully managing risk.
About our Team
Vetcoveâs legal team is deeply embedded in the business and works cross-functionally across nearly every major company initiative. We support a suite of products serving veterinary hospitals, corporate veterinary groups, manufacturers, distributors, animal health suppliers, and pet parents, which means our legal work touches SaaS, ecommerce, marketplace operations, pharmacy, veterinary practice regulations, FDA, DEA, privacy, telecommunications, consumer protection, and emerging technology.
We move quickly and expect our lawyers to be practical, proactive, and business-minded. You will not be limited to a narrow legal lane. Instead, you will be expected to understand the companyâs products, customers, commercial goals, and regulatory environment, and to help craft thoughtful, scalable solutions. This is a role for someone who wants to become a true partner to business leadership and help shape the legal strategy of a company building the future of veterinary care.

Partner closely with business leadership, product, operations, and finance to support enterprise deals and strategic initiatives
Advise on product development and product launches, including identifying legal risks and developing practical, business-oriented solutions
Develop expertise in new and evolving legal areas relevant to Vetcoveâs business, including telecommunications, consumer protection, privacy, FDA, DEA, veterinary practice laws, pharmacy laws, ecommerce, marketplace regulation, and related compliance frameworks
Help translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical guidance for product, engineering, operations, and business teams
Support strategic growth initiatives, including new products, new markets, new commercial models, and new regulated workflows
What you should have
5-8 years of legal experience, including experience at a top-tier law firm

Experience advising high-growth technology companies, SaaS businesses, regulated businesses, or enterprise software companies
Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new and evolving regulatory frameworks, and translating them into practical guidance for the business team
A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset and a strong desire to solve problems rather than simply identify them

Automatic 401k contribution
Employee referral program
At home office set-up
